Are you searching for a photographer to capture your wedding day or family in a unique and an individual way? I may be the photographer you’ve been looking for.
Below you’ll find a few frequently asked questions. If you have any further questions, please just pop me a message.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE? AND WILL YOU TRAVEL?
I’m based in Cape Town, South Africa. I’ve been here for a wee while, and have found a few beautiful locations for us to play with. And I absolutely will travel to you. Exploring new places is high up on my list of favourite things to do, and it would be amazing to do that with you.
WHAT PHOTOGRAPHY DO YOU OFFER?
I specialise in wedding and couple photography. I also love working with brands to build portfolios for websites, as well as capturing beautiful moments between families. If you’re in need of a photographer please do inquire. If I’m not able to help you, I’ll gladly refer you to another top quality photographer who will be able to assist!
HOW MUCH CAN WE EXPECT TO INVEST IN YOUR SERVICES?
I don’t have wedding packages as such. Each wedding is so unique, and every couple has their own needs. I prefer to sit down with you to find out exactly what you need and tailor a quote specifically to your needs. You can expect your quote to include at least one pre-wedding meeting, and both high resolution and low resolution images delivered on a personalised USB. The rest is dependent on you.
For all other shoots, pop me a message and we can chat about the details before I put a quote together for you.
HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?
For weddings, I’d love to meet you before we go ahead with anything. We can head to a favourite coffee shop, and catch up over a cup or two. If you’re based outside of Cape Town we can do this over Skype - no problem! This gives us a chance to get to know each other, and to chat about your special day. If you decide that we’re a perfect match, I’ll send through a contract for you to sign, and you’ll need to pay a deposit to book and secure your date. Normally the deposit is 50% of your total fee. The remaining balance is due 7 days before your wedding.
For regular shoots, it isn’t necessary for us to meet up beforehand. But if you have a few ideas you’d like to chat about before the shoot I’d be happy to chat about it over a cup of coffee. I also require a 50% deposit to secure your shoot and I’ll send through a contract that you’ll need to sign. The remaining balance is due 3 days before your shoot.
HOW DO WE RECEIVE OUR PHOTOS? AND HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
As a wedding day is jam packed with beautiful moments, it usually takes about 6 weeks for me to prepare your photos for you. Once I’ve finished with them, I’ll pop you a mail to arrange a meet up so that I can deliver your personalised USB with all of your stunning, edited photos. Plus it’s a great chance for us to catch up and chat about your first few exciting weeks as a married couple!
Regular shoots usually take me around 2 weeks to edit. I’ll be able to deliver these to you over an email that will give you access to an online gallery with all of your beautiful photos.
You can also expect a few sneak peaks along the way as I edit your photos as I’ll probably be far too excited about the photos to not share them with you!
WILL ALL OF OUR PHOTOS BE EDITED? CAN WE HAVE THE UNEDITED PHOTOS?
Yes, you’ll receive all images edited and in high resolution format. I take a great deal of care to edit each and every one of your photos. No, you won’t be able to have access to any of the unedited photos.
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE GET?
You’ll receive all of the best images from your wedding day. The final number is dependent on the booked time frame, but I usually deliver between 300 and 800 images.
For regular shoots this will vary depending on the package you’ve selected. You’ll also have the option to purchase additional photos if you’d like to.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO WE NEED TO BOOK YOU?
If you’d like to book me for your wedding, I’d suggest booking me as soon as you possibly can. I book weddings on a first come first serve basis meaning that if I get 5 inquiries for a given date, the first couple that’s able to sign the contract and pay the deposit will get the date. By getting in touch early there’s a better chance that I’ll be available for your date. I don’t hold dates without a deposit.
There isn’t such an urgency with regular shoots, and you could get in touch with me as little as a week before you’d like to shoot.
CAN WE ORDER PRINTS AND ALBUMS FROM YOU?
Yes! Yes! Yes! There is something magical about holding your photograph in your hand, and I would love to assist you with any printing you need done. I work very closely with a professional print lab to ensure that the quality of your prints and albums are top notch.
CAN WE BE FRIENDS AFTER?
Absolutely! I’d love nothing more than to be a part of your journey not only as your photographer, but as your friend.
WEDDING SPECIFIC QUESTIONS
DO YOU WORK WITH A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
Yes, almost always. Having two photographers allows for every moment to be captured, and the difference in perspectives creates a beautiful memory of your entire wedding. While I’m capturing your first kiss, my second photographer is capturing your guests’ cheers.
HOW LONG CAN WE BOOK YOU FOR? AND HOW DO WE KNOW HOW MUCH COVERAGE WE NEED?
You can book me for 6 hours or more. There is no time limit - you set the time frame. An average wedding for 80-120 guests needs about 9 hours of photography to get through to the end of formalities. We can chat about timing during our first meeting.
CAN WE BOOK YOU FOR EXTRA COVERAGE ON THE NIGHT?
If things are running late, and you’re worried that we’ll go over time, you’re more than welcome to book extra hours on the night. I send through a detailed photography timeline the week before the wedding and you’ll be able to get an idea from that if the timing will be tight. I try to keep your wedding day as stress-free as possible, and will do my best to ensure that we have enough time for everything.
HOW LONG DO WE NEED FOR FAMILY, BRIDAL PARTY AND COUPLE PHOTOS?
I try to work as quickly as possible to get these photos done so that you don’t have to stay away from your guests for too long. After the ceremony, we’ll need about 15 minutes for family photos, 25 minutes for bridal party photos, and about half an hour for couple photos. That’s it!
